The Adrater Project was inspired by futurist ideas like Jaron Lanier's 'Paid Data Protocol' and Sid Meier's description of a 'Eudaimonic Society'. As computational power becomes ever more sophisticated, it will eventually become possible for algorithms to present us with opportunities for self-actualization better than the ones we would have found without them. For that to happen, there will need to be aligned desires and incentives. This project is an attempt to take the first steps in that direction. Ideally, it will bring a bit more two-way communication into the interaction between advertisers and customers.
